MUZIRIS BIENNALE KOCHI - Dec 12, 2025 to March 31, 2026
The Kochi-Muziris Biennale is India’s largest international contemporary art festival, held in Kochi, Kerala, every two years. Launched in 2012, it is named after Muziris, the ancient seaport near Kochi that was once a thriving hub of trade and cultural exchange. The Biennale transforms heritage buildings, warehouses, galleries, and public spaces across Fort Kochi, Mattancherry, and Ernakulam into venues for art installations, paintings, sculptures, photography, video, art performance and new media. It serves as a global platform where artists from India and around the world present works that explore history, culture, politics, and contemporary issues. Alongside exhibitions, the Biennale hosts talks, film screenings, workshops, and music performances, making it not just an art show but a vibrant cultural celebration. With its blend of history, creativity, and community engagement, the Kochi-Muziris Biennale has earned international acclaim as one of the most significant art festivals in Asia.
