KAMBALA CELEBRATION 2024-2025
This is an annual festival in the farming belts of Karnataka which is celebrated during the winter when contestants sprint along waterlogged muddy fields holding a rope attached to two buffaloes. Kambala is a buffalo race, a sport loved by the locals. Every year, after the harvest, the festival takes place where they offer thanks to the god for a year of good harvest. And also since buffaloes are a big part of the farming life, they conduct these races as a gesture of thankfulness and gratitude towards the god for the good health of the buffaloes.
