Royal Enfield was a brand of the Enfield manufacturing Company limited, a British motorcycle manufacturing firm started on 1890. It started in India on 1955 and the first order delivered to the Indian army. Its qualities and durability, Bullet became popular motorcycle in India and it seems tailor-made for Indian roads. Motorcyclists in the country dreamt to ride it and now owning a Royal Enfield is a symbol of pride for a common man.
Vypin, also spelled Vypeen an island about five km from Cochin city, sprawls in an area of more than 25 km. It owes its origin to the heavy floods of 1341. It is known to be the island having highest density of population in the world. Till the advent of the Portuguese in the 16th century, the island was inhabited by a small indigenous fishing community.
On arrival pass by the Puthuvype Light House, situated in the scenic Puthuvype beach, is one of the tallest in India.
Follow with the visit of the Cruz Milagres Church, built by the Portuguese in 1573. It played a pivotal role in the moulding of the religious and social fabric of this island. Stop at the Elamkunnapuzha Subramanya Swami Temple, one the oldest temples of Kerala and later board a country boat for a cruise on Mangrove canal. Get some snack and refreshment at Njarakkal Beach House and enjoy the sunset. Drop back down to Cochin for the end of your motorcycling tour.
